Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort’15 – The Highlights.

A platform where more than 80 top designers unveil their collection, each giving a new face to the trend and season; with diversified and avant-garde silhouettes and highlighting details, we bring LAKME FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT 2015.

However, LFW’15 was all about energetic tones, buoyant impressions of art and heavy luxury all together giving birth to new fashion statements yet again. The week has ended, but these remarkable collections have made their mark right from the fashion extremists on the front row to the fashion followers sitting before their gadgets swooned by the runway.

Here are my favorite jaw-dropping collections from LFW’15.

LFW 154

Manish Malhotra, a respected asset to the fashion and Bollywood industry commences the season with a grand opening, celebrating 25 years of success and glory on the dais.

The Blue Runway by Manish featured flourishing threadwork and parsi-gara embroidery. The soft and flowy fabrics were rendered in the hues of blue with bold motifs of GOLD. Whereas, the mens’ collection showcased affluent and contented attire ruling the runway with self-embroidered jackets and long shirts.

The high-end designer set apart his collection by welcoming a new dimension to it with a social media message of gender equality. Always doing the right thing Manish!

 LFW 15

Shubhika’s collection for Papa Don’t Preach was titled as Twitterpated, inspired by the idea of love with romantic pop of pastels stitched with lively embellished heart motifs. The collection redefined sexy and chic showcasing straightforward silhouettes with rich crepe, silk tissue, mesh and satin. Am I the only one going cray-cray over those quirky props and accessories? I guess not. That frolic umbrella and those pom-pom earrings ruled the ramp.

LFW 151

Fashion designer Dhruv successfully blurs the gender lines with modified formals, eccentric designs and with hot little off-the-shoulder number on LFW ramp. Though Androgyny is one of the running trends this year, DRVV debuts the trend on Indian Platform successfully with his edgy monochrome creation.

LFW 152

Jayesh Sachdev and Rixi Bhatia are turning everyones quirk on; cajoling the crowd with their signature sparkling prints to go wanderlust this summer. The collection dominates this season with airplane printed on the jacket, domes from Moscow on the back and postcards on pants completing the look with travel friendly accessories. This summer, quirk away.

LFW 153

Anamika Khanna, who rules the Indian couture world closed the Lakme Fashion Week 2015 with beyond-graceful silhouettes portraying a mélange of designs with richly embroidered capes, soft sultry fabrics and gorgeous headgears, which redefines a modern bride.

Lakme ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan masterfully rendered in Anamika Khanna couture closes the season with a majestic bang!

Well, these are my favorites from the LFW’15. But there’s more! These designers may have imprinted us with their lush and gorgeous apparel but there were designers who took the historic way and made us all re-live the art of the different eras. Stay tuned. x

Blogger Note- Hi all. I’m sorry for disappearing from this sphere, but I’m actually not sorry?! I’ve been facing a writers-block lately because I’m working on my CV, as summer is here and I am looking for a job. Priority shifts you see.  I seriously don’t want to lose focus on both- here and in my life. Sometimes it gets really hard, but I’m sure it’ll be okay in the end.

Hope you have a great day.

NYFW – Victoria Beckham blends Military and Apron style stitched with Sexy!

Having successfully infiltrated the fashion world, Victoria Beckham now occupies a very diverse position within the New York Fashion web of power and influence than she did in the days when she was marketing her own glamorous lifestyle in the form of figure-flattering date dresses.

Victoria Beckham is proving to be a dab hand at navigating the void between, taking silhouettes and styles that are just beginning to come into fashion industry focus and distilling them into slick, glossy collections that make new ideas appealing and palatable. (Of course, having David Beckham in the front row doesn’t hurt.)

Her latest collection, for spring/summer 2015, began with a series of three taupe linen dresses and coat-dresses, each falling to just below the knee, each with a wrapover or double breasted fastening, each worn with a half-belt, which narrowed the silhouette while keeping the line soft and fluid.

The midi skirt, the double-breasted jacket or coat, the lean-but-loose silhouette are all looks which were floating around the fashion zeitgeist before but which Beckham has – with this collection, and elements of the one before – taken and made her own. Hemlines stayed below the knee for 26 out of the 32 outfits in this collection, a confident statement of belief in the trend from a woman whose toned legs, in short dresses, once formed a key part of her personal brand.

The show was the first for which Beckham had designed shoes under her own brand. There was not a stiletto to be seen: instead, she embraced the voguish trend for a profound, less feminine shoe. Heels were colossal platforms, and most of the shoes were smooth. A floral-embellished, pointy loafer-brogue amalgam was the standout.

To sum up, apron-styling, square patch pockets and soft military detailing lent a work-wear edge to the trademark genteel Beckham aesthetic.

“I wanted something minimal and graphic with a slightly raw element. Over the seasons I’ve loosened up the fit of my clothes – but they still make you look long and lean, they’re still wearable.” – Victoria.B

Valentine Plans – Style Diary!

Its the Valentines week!

Honestly the word “Love” and everything around and beyond it, is the biggest cliche in life. But I tend to enjoy the little things, (which just includes a gory stare and a deep *sigh* from my side)- I like the pretty little lightnings hung around the trees and the passage of the romantic dinner venues; and the fresh flowers on the early afternoons dinning table. And basically I admire all these universal things which reminds me of the universal ‘feelings’. It’s a day where every girl tries to look her best beautiful and the boys try to make their loved one realize the worth of her love. Their love.

Hence, I have created 4 different exciting looks for The Valentines Day for all you beautiful ladies because life is too short to wear boring clothes.

  • The Casual
  • The Rationale
  • The Classic
  • The Usual

The Casual.

The casual look is basically for the brunch/lunch dates. A little bit of sunshine, the soft morning breeze and an attire stitched with comfort. Isn’t it a perfect way to start a day? Here I chose a simple cotton slip-on dress and teamed up with contrasting accessories and footwear and couple of chunky bangles, easy blow-dried hair and I’m good to go.

The Rationale

If you are planning to hit the clubs with crazy music, great booze and scrumptious food, here’s an edgy look with a leather corset  for an outstanding evening combined with a statement shoulder accessory, a neat hair-do in contrast with heavy make-up. Let your eyes do the talking!

The Classic.

A glass of wine, a roof-top dinner, and some jazz. Is that in your planner? Rock the night with an elegant gown with sexy cuts in chiffon. If the neck is too busy or ends too high, pair it up with your best statement earrings and cuff. Complete the look with a side bun with smokey eyes and red or nude lipstick if you are not a lipstick fan like me.

The Usual,

Made with Square InstaPic (

Do I even need to talk about this? Go cray-cray with your girlfriends! Come up the a theme or nothing at all. Wear your dads t-shirt and your favorite pajamas like a stud and roam around the streets like retards. Eating pizzas with swag because we own you nothing.

Hands down, I’m going for the last option. What about you?

Please do share your Valentine plans, if nothing, then join the club!

Hope you liked the post. I was very skeptical about it because I was a little nervous. But it became better anyway 🙂

Fashion Fables- A new page.

Fashion has become a large part of identity making in the post-human world in which people play dress-up with their clothing. Fashionable clothes reinvent people as sexual, desirable and enigmatic. We care about what we wear a great deal because our culture emphasizes an outward appearance.

Fashion changes every season, squeezing our wallets. Being a fashion graduating student, I would say it is not about what to wear. It is about how you wear the attire, reflecting back to yourself. Fashion is persistent. This page is all about  couture things,road-side pleasures and impromptu detailing existing currently in the Fashion market.

Fashion Fables features  latest trends, fashion reviews, cover stories, accessories, color stories, fashion blogs, road-side shopping list and a  peek into my own personal style diary and many exciting stuff!

Stay tuned.
